| GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Purpose: The Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival Organizing Committee seeks to find out and foster young, talented wind instrumentalists from around the world and to give them an opportunity to share friendships and cultural exchange with one another. JIWEFOC seeks to accomplish this goal through sponsorship of the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival in odd-numbered years which seeks after musical popularity, and in even numbered years the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival & Brass Competition which promotes the highest musical professionalism.
2. Duration: from Tuesday, August 10 through Friday August, 20, 2010

RULES AND REGULATION
1. The Jeju International Brass Competition is open to competitors from all nationalities who were born after January 1, 1979.
2. All three stages of the Competition is open to the public
3. Section
Soloist: Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Bass Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba.
Ensemble: Brass quintet
4. Enclosures: The applicants must mail the following enclosures to Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival Organizing Committee, postmarked no later than May 31, 2010

RULES AND PROCEDURES
1. The competition will consist of three separate rounds: 1st Preliminary, 2nd Preliminary, and Final.
2.The order of appearance of the competitors will be determined by a drawing that must be attended by all candidates. Attendance at the drawing is compulsory.
3. Candidates may refer to the score during the competition.
4. The candidates refer to the score.
5. The committee provide official piano accompanists from home and abroad who are acknowledged experts. In case that a competitor bring his or her own piano accompanist, he/she must pay the accompanist's housing fee, 200,000 in Korean currency, which included breakfast.
6. Final will be accompanied by a symphony orchestra.
7. All first winners of the sections must perform in the Winners' Concert.
8. All candidates should bring ID Card, issued by the OC after enrollment on Augsut 10, during the competition.

PRIZES AND ENGAGEMENTS
1. Prizes: The prize winner of each section will be awarded a certificate, a trophy, and a cash prize.
Soloist section: Grand Prize: The First Prize: US$ 7,000
The 2nd Prize: US$ 5,000
The 3rd Prize: US$ 4,000
Ensemble section: The first prize: US$ 12,000 by the Minister of Culture & Tourism, Korea
The 2nd prize: US$ 9,000
The 3rd prize: US$ 7,000
Special award: Solo section (one player): US$1,500
Ensemble section (one team): US$ 1,500
2. Cash prize will be given in Korean Currency, at the current rate of dollar exchange on the awarding day. Taxes will be deducted from prizes according to Korean tax law in effect at the time of the Competition.
3. If there is no winner in each section, prize will not be given.
4. In the case of a tie, prize money will be added from the next lower prize rank and distributed equally between the two. The cash of the next rank winner will not be paid. (ie, if there is a tie for first prize, the winners will divide the total monies of first and second prize, then the next winner will receive third prize.)
5. There may be other special prizes from many supporting organization in addition to the prizes mentioned above.
6. The first winner of each section will be invited to Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival, held the next year following the competition. Airfare, accommodation and meals will be offered. The first winners could not apply for the competition, again.

HOUSING AND TRAVEL EXPENSE
1. For the duration of the Competition, the candidates, who are from outside of Korea, will be provided with free housing, breakfast, practice facilities. The applicants, who are resident in Korea, should pay 200,000 in Korean Currency for their housing included breakfast.
2. Unless there were some special reason, the candidates should stay at the accommodation, arranged by our committee.
3. The candidates are solely responsible for their airfare and other travel expenses.

THE JURY
1. From Korea: Persons, acknowledged in the wind music field concerned both home and abroad.
From abroad: Person of the professional players invited to the ensemble festival. acknowledged world wide in the wind music field concerned.
2. The decisions of the Jury and OC will be final and beyond appeal.
3. Communicating between the jury and the candidates during the competition is not allowed. Any violation of this rule may result in disqualification.
4. All Jury members must attend all rounds from first to final. In the event that a member of the Jury is the teacher of a candidate for more than three months for past two years. then this judge must abstain from the voting.
