The fundamental spirit of music is harmony and cooperation. The gold-colored wind instruments are a cheerful cry giving us hope, courage and happiness in our everyday lives. Playing an instrument is not a luxurious hobby for the individual. It is sharing happiness and emotion by cooperating with others while governing over oneself. Like this, wind music is a proud art that leads a healthy society.
The world is now tearing down the differences in ideology and is putting effort toward a peaceful global village by standing hand in hand with culture and art. The Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival (JIWEF) wishes to show through wind music that from Jeju, "the Island of Peace," the "world is one" and that peace comes from mutual understanding and cooperation. All our participants of this festival are here to show this fact.

Jeju is an island with blue sea, vast fields and clean air. Jeju islanders have pride in The Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival (JIWEF) open every summer. Specialized in wind music, this festival, with the romantic summer, colors all of Jeju in golden music.
Jeju has been designated "the Island of Peace" by the Republic of Korea government in February of 2005, and has been elevated to the state of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and is opening a new horizon toward the world. The harmony of wind music is the artistic symbol of Jeju, 'the Island of Peace.'
Therefore The Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival (JIWEF) is the world's fanfare for the longing of world peace. We welcome everyone participating in the festival.
