Jeju Provincial Seogwipo Wind Orchestra

Jeju Provincial Seogwipo Wind Orchestra, succeeded Seogwipo Municipal Band, was established in 1998 by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province for the first time in Korea.
Since its inception, the orchestra has participated in various including Jeju international Wind Ensemble Fastival, APBDA, invitational concert of commemorating 5th anniversary of the opening of Civic Arts center, Kujikawa, Japan, Concert of the Best Band, hosted by Daegu Culture & Art Center, concert in Wolmi International Music Festival in Incheon, Wonju Tattoo Festival, invitational concert at Bukgu Arts Center, Daegu Korea International Wind Music Festival.
The orchestra aims to contribute to raise cultural quality of the local throughout its passionate activities as ter first municipal band since committing of Self-Governing System. The orchestra is regarded as a successful model that is a bridge, connecting a more than 100 years history of korea wind music form past to present.
The orchestra has been awarded ´Korea Wind Music Award´, in 2010 as the first wind band, and not only represent a cultual pride but also grafts a culture and arts on tourism by utilizing the specialty of the regional society.

Dongho Lee (Conductor)

Studied conduction&composition in Bruckner Konservatorium, Linz, Austria.
He was conductor Masan Municipal Symphony Orchestra, Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra, Kyungnam Opera, Vienna-Korean Orchestra
He was awarded the 1st Musician of Today(1995), ‘Radiant player of the year(1996)’ in conductor section chosen by 6 music critics group, ‘Korea Musician prize(2005)’ from Music Association of Korea.
