Jeju Withus Wind Orchestra is the first inclusive wind orchestra in Jeju, bringing together musicians with and without disabilities. Founded in December 2022 under the motif “Withus,” the orchestra was established with the vision of promoting disability awareness and social integration through music, aiming to create harmony through communication and unity. Its members include both disabled and non-disabled individuals, ranging from youth to adults, who come together to perform as one. Through annual regular concerts, year-end performances, outreach concerts in underserved areas, participation in local cultural and arts festivals, and various invited performances, the orchestra continues to share inspiration, hope, and dreams with the community.
Conductor Lee Jeong-Seok
Born in Seogwipo, Jeju, conductor Lee Jeong-Seok graduated from the Department of Music at Jeju National University, and continued his studies at Blanc Mesnil Conservatoire in Paris, France, and Zwolle Conservatoire in the Netherlands. He has conducted performances with the Seogwipo Youth Orchestra, Korean Youth Dream Orchestra, the Pitești Philharmonic Orchestra in Romania, and the National Vratsa Orchestra in Bulgaria, appearing in concerts across Seoul, China, Russia, and Europe. He has been praised as a young conductor capable of delivering refined yet dramatically dynamic interpretations. He has served as conductor for the Seogwipo City Youth Orchestra, Jeju Grand Orchestra, Nohyeong Wind Orchestra, and the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education Disabled Orchestra, and is currently the conductor of the Jeju Withus Wind Orchestra. In recognition of his contributions to culture and the arts in Jeju, he has received awards from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Education, and commendations from Seogwipo City, the Jeju Provincial Council, and the Jeju Provincial Office of Education.
