Jeju Saxophone Orchestra, the first purely amateur saxophone ensemble in Jeju, was formed by individuals who share a love for music and seek joy in life through the saxophone. Established in July 2007, the group changed its name from “ensemble” to “orchestra” in 2023 to reflect its musical growth. Currently consisting of 37 members ranging in age from their 30s to 60s—including office workers and self-employed individuals—the orchestra presents a wide range of programs, from classical to popular music, to engage with diverse audiences. Their performance activities include annual regular concerts, participation in the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival, and outreach concerts for local residents. The group remains committed to expanding the base of community music and will continue to pursue that mission with dedication.
