Korean Wind Orchestra (KWO) was founded with the mission of advancing wind music in Korea while satisfying the public’s cultural needs through emotional connection and sincere musical spirit rooted in classical traditions. With a commitment to artistic excellence and heartfelt passion, KWO seeks to elevate the status of Korean music through proactive international exchange and bold, innovative challenges. The orchestra aims to establish itself as a leading national ensemble by maintaining its unique musical identity and delivering moving performances in fresh and inspiring formats.
Conductor Lee Cheolwoong
Conductor Lee Cheolwoong graduated from the College of Music at Yonsei University and went on to earn both his Diplom and Konzert-Examen with highest honors from Folkwang Hochschule für Musik in Essen, Germany. He previously served as principal trombonist of the KBS Symphony Orchestra and has maintained an active performance career through solo and collaborative concerts across major cities in Europe and Asia. As a conductor, he has also made his mark on international stages, leading performances such as the AETAS Children's Foundation charity concert in Munich (Kirche St. Joseph), the Promenadenkonzerte at the Imperial Hofburg in Innsbruck, Austria, an invitational concert in Grafenwöhr, Germany, and a WASBE concert at Zofin Palace in Prague. He is currently a professor at Yonsei University’s College of Music and serves as the music director of the Korean Wind Orchestra. In addition to his academic and artistic work, he actively contributes to the development of wind music in Korea through roles such as executive member of the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival and president of the Korean College Band Directors Association.

Assistant Conductor Jeon ChanSol
Assistant Conductor Jeong ChanSol graduated from the Department of Orchestral Instruments at Yonsei University College of Music, and continued his studies at the Conservatoire de Lyon in France and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in Belgium. He is actively performing both as a soloist and ensemble musician, while also serving as the assistant conductor of the Korean Wind Orchestra. Through his role, he continues to develop a distinct musical identity and expand his artistic reach.
