Tianxia Wu currently serves as Associate Professor of Horn at the School of Music, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He currently also holds the position of Guest Principal Horn with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and is a faculty member at the Macao Youth Orchestra Association. Additionally, he has served as Guest Principal Horn with several top-tier Asia-Paicific orchestras, such as the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, etc. A native of Shanghai, is known for his expressive and passionate musicianship. Mr. Wu began his professional career by joining the Macao Orchestra in the fall of 2010, when he was appointed as Principal Horn. Prior, he has performed as guest horn with Harrisburg Symphony, the New World Symphony, the New York Sinfonietta and China National Ballet Orchestra. Since joining Macao Orchestra, he has collaborated with numerous artists around the world such as JianWang, Lu Ja, Shao-Chia Lu, Emmanuel Pahud, Jahja Ling, etc. Mr. Wu received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Juilliard School in New York in 2006 and 2008, and an artist diploma from Yale University in 2010. His main teachers are Jerome Ashby and William Purvis.
