Louise Pollock is Professor of Trombone at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. She is currently also serving as Principal Trombonist of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. Louise is “International Visiting Tutor” at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK. From 2015 to 2023, she was Principal Trombonist at the Gothenburg Opera in Sweden and taught trombone at the Gothenburg Academy of Music and Drama. Prior to that, she played for three years with the Stuttgart Philharmonic. Louise Pollock has won numerous prizes at national and international competitions, including the 1st Prize and the Audience Award at the 2016 Aeolus International Competition for Wind Instruments. Now she is active as a jury member, for example at the Markneukirchen International Instrumental Competition and the International Trombone Association (ITA) competition. In 2023, she was elected as the president of the Internationale Posaunenvereinigung and as a member of the International Trombone Association's Board of Advisors. She completed her Bachelor's degree with Prof. Branimir Slokar in Freiburg im Breisgau and continued her studies with Prof. Henning Wiegräbe in Stuttgart (Master’s degree).
