Samhwa Soriullim Wind Orchestra, made up of over 80 members creating beautiful harmony, was originally founded in 2014 as the Samhwa Ensemble and expanded into the Samhwa Orchestra in 2018. The group has earned multiple awards in the ensemble division of the JIBS Music Competition. Re-established in 2021 under its current name, the orchestra has since garnered several prizes at events such as the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival (U-13 division), the Chuncheon National Wind Band Competition, and the orchestra division of the JIBS Music Competition. In addition to competitions, the ensemble actively performs in a wide range of events, including the Jeju Youth Wind Festival, morning concerts, and regular concerts.
Conductor Kim Onsol
Conductor Kim Onsol graduated from the Department of Music Education at Jeju National University and served as a military band member in the Army’s 17th Infantry Division. From 2019 to 2021, he led the Samhwa Ensemble, the predecessor of the current Samhwa Soriullim Wind Orchestra, guiding the group to awards at events such as the JIBS Music Competition. In 2024, he returned as the conductor of the Samhwa Soriullim Wind Orchestra, leading the ensemble to win Gold Prizes at the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival (U-13 division), the Chuncheon National Wind Band Competition (elementary division), and the JIBS Music Competition (orchestra division).
