Yeonpyeong Middle‑High School Wind Orchestra is a small wind ensemble comprised of middle and high school students. Established in summer 2022, the team gathers every Friday after school to rehearse. Located on an island in Incheon Metropolitan City—about a two-hour boat ride from Yeonan Pier—and bordering North Korea, the ensemble has performed peace concerts from its inaugural year, as well as events like Parent’s Day celebrations, the Crab Festival, and the Incheon Youth Wind Festival, all with heartfelt hopes for peace.
Conductor Kang Jungu
Conductor Kang Jungu performed on the violin and double bass with the Jeju Youth Orchestra and played the clarinet in his high school wind band. He majored in composition in university and served in the Air Force Band, where he was responsible for arrangements and played the clarinet. He is currently working as a music teacher at Yeonpyeong Middle-High School in Incheon.
