Hallim High School Big Band is a jazz ensemble based at Hallim High School, located in Hallim-eup, Jeju. In 2025, the group expanded from an active saxophone ensemble into a full-scale jazz big band to explore richer sounds and a wider range of musical genres. The band currently consists of 27 students from grades 10 to 12, with instrumentation including soprano saxophone, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpet, trombone, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, and piano. Through performing various pieces, the students are actively sharing the charm of jazz. Hallim High School Big Band contributes to both school and community cultural development by participating not only in school events but also in local festivals. These musical activities help students cultivate artistic sensitivity and contribute to building a vibrant artistic culture within the school. Moreover, through music, they learn to listen to one another and achieve beautiful harmony while expressing their individual personalities. As the band embarks on a new chapter in 2025, it is expected to continue growing through diverse performances and to have an even greater impact on both the school and the local community.
