DayKey High School Wind Orchestra was founded on November 22, 1985, with 22 members and made its debut performance at the Baekho Soccer Tournament in 1986. In 1989, the orchestra brought pride to Jeju by winning the region’s first Gold Prize at the KBS National Wind Band Competition. In 1992, it participated in the Korea Wind Festival, and in 1994, represented South Korea as part of the Jeju High School Combined Band at the 8th Asia Pacific Band Directors' Association (APBDA) held in Hamamatsu, Japan. More recently, the orchestra earned Second Prize (Excellence Award) for two consecutive years at the Chuncheon National Wind Competition in 2022 and 2023, further enhancing the school’s reputation. Currently composed of 71 members, the ensemble balances academics with music, practicing daily during lunch and evening hours. Through participation in wind festivals, Baekho Tournament performances, and annual regular concerts, the orchestra plays a leading role in fostering emotional growth and creating a joyful school culture.
