Chimsan Wind Orchestra is a proud ensemble where the instructor and 65 student members work together in unity, joyfully and diligently striving not only to improve their understanding of musical instruments but also to nurture emotional sensitivity, learn the value of harmony, and explore brighter and more diverse futures through their musical experiences. Since its founding in 2011, the orchestra has actively participated in various performances including the Daegu Student Club Festival, the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival, national wind competitions, and annual regular concerts. These opportunities have helped the members sharpen their skills while learning to collaborate, care for one another, and engage with their audiences under the guidance of their dedicated instructor. Chimsan Wind Orchestra does not settle for its current achievements and continues to pursue authentic music-making, aiming for each member to grow in skill, passion, and confidence. The ensemble is committed to becoming a group that provides audiences with both aesthetic and communicative musical experiences.
Conductor Kim Myeon Ki
Conductor Kim Myeon Ki is devoted to leading student orchestras, drawing on his extensive experience conducting and performing with major municipal symphony orchestras and wind ensembles across Korea. He is currently a music teacher at Chimsan Middle School and serves as the conductor of the Chimsan Wind Orchestra. Each year, he strives to present meaningful and inspiring performances for students through various events such as mini concerts, healing concerts for faculty, and annual regular concerts.
