  - The recommender’s official seal or signature is required.

  * Recommender examples: school principal, academic advisor/professor, head of organization, president of a regional wind band association, dean/head of department of the applicant’s alma mater, etc.

• Applicants must pay KRW 300,000 under the applicant’s name by May 30 via bank transfer.

• The participation fee is non-refundable.

• Competition Payment methods for all fees, including the participation fee, official accommodation fee, and accompanist accommodation fee, will be announced on the website at a later date

• Official accompanists will be arranged by the Organizing Committee. Personal accompanists are also permitted.
  ※ The official accompanist will be assigned at the discretion of JIWEF Organizing Committee.

• Personal Accompanist

  • If bringing a personal accompanist, their information must be entered into the “Accompanist Selection” section of the application system by May 30.

  • If the accompanist will be staying at the official accommodation, an additional KRW 300,000 must be paid.

• Participants using the official accommodation must arrive in Jeju on Thursday, August 6, and complete both check-in and on-site registration at the official accommodation.

• Participants not using the official accommodation must complete on-site registration at the competition venue for their sound check on Friday, August 7.

If using accommodation designated by the Organizing Committee.

• Domestic participants and foreign residents in Korea must pay KRW 300,000 per person(including breakfast) together with the application fee.

• Overseas Korean nationals and foreign participants will be provided with accommodation and breakfast free of charge.

  • Required documentation: Proof of enrollment (student ID or certificate of enrollment) or proof of overseas residence issued within the past month.

  • Official accommodation is based on double occupancy (2 persons per room) and room assignments will be made by the Organizing Committee.

  • The official accommodation will be available from August 6 to August 15, and any stay outside this period must be arranged at the participant’s own expense.

• The participant must strictly adhere to the designated sound check time.

• Sound checks will take place from Friday, August 7 to Saturday, August 8, and the order of sound checks and competition performances will be determined by the Organizing Committee.
  * The order of sound checks and competition performances cannot be changed arbitrarily.

• Each finalist will be given one stage rehearsal with either a symphony orchestra or a wind orchestra prior to the final performance.

All rounds of the competition will be open to the public, and general matters will follow the customary practices of international competitions.

• Judges assigned to each category will evaluate all participants within that category.

• Each category will have a jury composed of 7 to 9 members.

A total of USD 24,000 in prize money will be awarded to the prize winners as follows.

1st USD 10,000

2nd USD 8,000

3rd USD 6,000

※ The prize money will be paid after tax deduction in accordance with the tax laws of the Republic of Korea.

• First prize winners in each division will perform in the Winner’s Concert, which will be held in conjunction with the awards ceremony.

• First prize winners will be invited to perform at the following year’s Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival spring season.

• All rights and copyrights related to television and radio broadcasts, recordings, and video footage during the competition period are held exclusively by the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival Organizing Committee.

• Individual photography, video recording, or audio recording during the competition is strictly prohibited.

• Regarding memorization, unless the repertoire specifically requires it, participants may perform while reading sheet music.

• Participants are responsible for preparing their own sheet music for all competition performances, and must use original (officially published) scores.

• The Organizing Committee bears no responsibility for issues arising from unauthorized use of sheet music; all responsibility lies with the participant.

• The Organizing Committee accepts no responsibility for personal illness, injury, or loss/damage of belongings during the competition; these are the sole responsibility of the participant.

• If a participant causes a disruptive incident or misconduct that affects the competition, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to disqualify them from participation.

• In the event of any objections or questions regarding the rules and guidelines of this competition, resolution shall be based on the Korean version of the competition rules and the laws of the Republic of Korea.

• All decisions made by the organizing committee and the Jury are final and not subject to appeal or reversal.
